Mrs. Alvirn Dickerson Thomas age 83 of the Summerfield community near Monteagle passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at The Willows at Winchester. She was born in the Alto community of Franklin County a daughter of the late Alvin Dickerson and Elizabeth Brandon Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Thomas; son-in-law, Freddie Wayne Hassebrock; sister, Flossie Throneberry; brothers, Howard and Estil Dickerson. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Monteagle Baptist Tabernacle.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Hassebrock of Pelham and Teresa (James H.) Nunley of Monteagle; grandchildren, Amy Hershman, Teri Morrow (Nick), Dustin; two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Haven.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
