Mr. John Kilby age 89 of Tracy City passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at his home. He was a son of the late C H Kilby and Mary Pratt Kilby. He and his wife, Maudie had operated Modern Dry Cleaners in Tracy City for over 30 years. Mr. Kilby was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Croatan and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal and Sewanee Lodge #405 F. & A.M.
He is survived by his wife, Maudie Lewis Kilby; son, Ronny (Sharon) Kilby of Cowan and Vicki (Max) Geary of Brentwood, TN; sister, Francis Payne of Chattanooga; 4 grandchildren, Kim Gear Keidel, Trey Geary, Scarlett Kilby Cole, Cody Kilby; 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Clayton Jones officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Cemetery with full military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
