Obituary of Sydney Church

Mrs. Sydney "Syd" Church age 80 of Monteagle, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was a member of Tracy City First United Methodist Church and a member of the choir. Syd was musically talented and blessed with a beautiful voice. She passed her musical talents on to her daughters, Cindy and Pam. Over the years she enjoyed playing golf, attending and watching on TV softball, baseball, football, and golf. She also operated a sports apparel manufacturing business for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kenneth "Buck" Church and she is survived by her daughters, Cindy Church, Manchester, TN and Pam Church, Tracy City, TN; seven sisters and one brother; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great - great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, March 18th 6-9 P.M. at Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19th at Tracy City First United Methodist Church with Minister Danny Coffelt officiating and eulogy by Danny Cooper, a beloved family friend. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Cemetery Tracy City, TN. Pallbearers are Glen Ernie Church, Zach Guyear, Zeke Guyear, Zeph Guyear, Chase Johnson, and Steven Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Ernie Church, Craig Lawson, Billy Moon, Ricky Seals, Tim Seals, and Cody Seals. Memorial Donations may be made in Syd Church's memory to the First United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 105 16th Street, Tracy City, TN 37387
