Obituary of Charles Johnson

Charles H. "Chick" Johnson, 86, of Tracy City, TN, passed away at his daughter's residence December 28, 2012 in Monteagle, TN. Mr. Johnson was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Tennessee Consolidated Coal, Co. He also enjoyed many years of working with Brice Construction Company. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bennie Jean Lankford Johnson, his parents DeWitt and Mary Alma Johnson; brothers, Alton, James and Richard Johnson; brothers-in-law, Herbert Lankford, Harry Long, and Alvin Anderson; sisters-in law, Grace Lankford, Evelyn Lankford Anderson, and Lucille Lankford Johnson. Survivors include his children Deborah Jean (George) Brady, Hueytown, AL, and Charlene (John) Simms, Monteagle, TN; grandchildren, Charles, Benjamin and Sarah Jean Simms, all of Monteagle, TN; sisters-in-law, Mary Long, Prattville, AL, Mary Lee Johnson, Margaret Johnson, both of Tracy City, TN. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Coffelt officiating. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Tommy Flury, Paul Flury, Andy Lockhart, Josh Sitz, Darieon Mostashari and Daniel Mostashari. Burial will be in the Summerfield Cemetery with full military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM Saturday at the Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.
