Mr. Larry David Murphy, Sr. age 60 of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012. He was a native of Chattanooga, a son of the late Noel Murphy and Susie Reel Murphy.
Growing up in Chattanooga, Larry loved boxing and was in the Chattanooga Boxing Club, including the 34th Annual Golden Gloves Tournament. He also was a NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Mark Martin. A loyal University of Tennessee football fan, he always enjoyed watching the "Big Orange".During his working career he was a fork lift operator having last worked at ADM.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy "Susie" Murphy; children, Nikie Murphy and Larry Murphy, Jr.; step-children, Jonathan and Tonya Head; grandchildren, Donovan, Chelsie, Tiffany, Courtney, Ivory and Chase.
Larry's wishes were to be cremated at his death and for his family to have a private visitation.
Foster & Lay Funeral Home of Tracy City is serving the Murphy family.
