Obituary of George Kilgore

George W. Kilgore 83 of Nixa, Mo. Passed away on October 7, 2012 at the Christian Health Care in Nixa. George was born on September 26, 1929 in Sewanee, TN. to Clarence E. Kilgore Sr. and Theona "Haynes" Kilgore. He worked for the Dupont Co. as foreman for 8 years in Chattanooga, TN. In 1957 he moved to Texas where he was employed by Albritton Engineering as Asst. personal manager, plant manager and safety director. In 1959 George met and married Irmgard "Kreuzen" Gilmore. From 1967 until retirement in 1988 he was employed by the Cabot Corp. a fortune 250 Company. The last 15 years he served as Corporate Director of Safety. As overseer of safety programs he regularly traveled to the companies manufacturing plants in Napon, Malaysia, Australia, Europe, South America, Canada and the US. George was a member of the Ozark United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #466 of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. and the Nixa Lions Club. Surviving is his wife Irma of the home, two sons Gary and wife Ann of Spring Hill, TN, Alan and wife Debbie of Taiwan, R.O.C. two brothers Clarence Jr. and wife Mary Jo of Tracy City, TN and David and wife Judy of Chattanooga, TN. Two sisters Catherine Flury and Ruth Roberts both of Tracy City, TN. Grandson Cody Kilgore and granddaughter Shana Williams (Brandon) and two great granddaughters Cheyenne and Sierra Williams. Graveside services will be Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the City cemetery, Tracy City, Tn., with Minister Ray Winton and Reverend Danny Coffelt officiating.
