Mrs. Gayle Ingle Layne age 71 of Monteagle, Tennessee passed from this life Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee. She was a retired bookkeeper in the medical records field. Mrs. Layne was born in Monteagle on November 25, 1940, a daughter of the late Newton Ingle and Hazel Goodrich Ingle, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Layne.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dr. Rick Courtney of Winchester; granddaughters, Candice, Lauren and Rachael Courtney; brothers, Jack and Bill Ingle of Cowan, Jerry Ingle of Winchester and Ky Ingle of Sewanee; sisters, Jayne Whited of Austin, TX, Sharon Champion and Latreive Kirkland both of Winchester; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Phillip Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
