Obituary of Roberta Sweeton

Roberta Sweeton, age 82, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was born January 1, 1941, to the late Robert and Louvenia Byars Wiggins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Brad Sweeton; son, James Ernest Nunley; brother, Johnny (Jewell) Wiggins; sisters, Elander Campbell, Betty Wiggins Johnson, and Dorothy Hargis. Roberta was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and loved her family very much. She was an avid collector of dolls and salt and pepper shakers. She loved flowers and could grow anything. She enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. She was unapologetically truthful. She is survived by her daughter, Josephine Sweeton; grandson, Wittel (Amanda) Nunley; granddaughter, Addison Mackenzie Nunley; sister, Janie Manning; and brothers, Bobby (Doris) Wiggins, Billy (Christine) Wiggins, Eddie (Debbie) Wiggins, and Buddy (Teresa) Wiggins. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Cumberland Funeral Home – Foster and Lay Chapel in Tracy City at 2:00 PM with Bro. Claude Hoback and Bro. Kyle Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. A visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday until time of service.
