Betty Jo Adams Smith passed away on July 27, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV. She passed peacefully in her sleep from late-stage dementia. She was born on May 16, 1943 in Grundy County, TN. She had worked at Sheddbartus Foods, Elgin, Illinois. She later retired to Las Vegas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy R. Smith; parents, Thomas Adams and Ethel Adams Brazile; brother, Thomas (JR) Adams and daughter, Deborah Shelton She is survived by her sister, Helen Adams Meeks of Ocala, FL; children, Rickey (Debra) Shelton, Sr of Manchester, TN, Larry (Tamara) Shelton of Las Vegas, NV, Danny Shelton of Altamont, TN, Cyndie (Vinnie) Munoz of Carpentersville, IL; grandchildren, Rick (Jammie) Shelton, Jr of Manchester, TN, Michael (Bobbie) Shelton of Euclid, OH, Sarah Shelton of Las Vegas, NV, Summer (Eddie) Shelton of Las Vegas, NV, Jason Fitch of Elgin, IL, Derek Shelton of Altamont, TN, Devona Jones of Elgin, IL; great grandchildren, Dillon (Karlee Griffin) and Jacob of Manchester, TN, Noah and Eli of Las Vegas, NV, Logan, London and Locklan of Elgin, IL, Caden of Anna, IL, Jordyn and Balam of Elgin, IL; several nieces and nephews. The Graveside Service will be Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2 PM at Bonny Oak Cemetery with Bro. Dwight Seagroves officiating.
