Obituary of Lena Pearl McBee

Lena Pearl McBee, age 87, of Sewanee, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was born December 28, 1935, to the late William and Pearl Dodson Willis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James McBee; brothers, Jerry Willis and Lawrence Willis; and sister, Carole Choate. Lena enjoyed cooking, sewing, and road trips. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Sewanee Senior Citizens and the Material Girls Quilt Guild. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou (Ben) Dudley, Mamie (Joey) Harrison, and Virginia Slatton; grandchildren, Todd Yates, Tyler (Kambrie) Harrison, Mary McBee, Ben Slatton, and Angel Brewer; great-grandchildren, Harper and Henley Harrison, Jayden Brewer, and Braylee McBee; sister, Joan Favala; and nieces, Donna Jones and Tonyia Gonzalez. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, visitation from 12-2 PM with service beginning at 2 PM with Pat Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at O’Dear Cemetery.
