Before Patsy became my aunt, she was my guidance counselor. I worked in the guidance office as a junior and senior, and Patsy was such an inspiration. As the first person in my family to attend college, she was so helpful in assisting me in attaining scholarships and financial aid. In our last visit, I thanked her again for the awesome career day she put together every year, making a schedule for each student to attend six sessions of potential colleges, technical schools, military branches, or other careers (before there were computers and spreadsheets)! I still remember what she wrote in my yearbook: “He who hath a trade, hath an estate“ by Shakespeare. Thank you Patsy for the estates that you gave to me and so many others. We loved you and will always be grateful for your dedication.
