Jimmy Ray Yokley, age 65, of Sewanee, Tennessee went to be with the Lord Monday, June 19, 2023 at Saint Thomas West, surrounded by his loving family.
We have been so blessed to have had such an Amazing Man in our lives to call husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Jim attended Franklin Co. Schools, he attended Jumpoff Baptist Church and City Light Church Monteagle, was of the Baptist faith and a believer in Jesus Christ.
Jim was a Construction Superintendent, Master Craftsman, a True Genius and a Gentleman. He enjoyed his work, his family, traveling and of course building.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Yokley and Sadie Champion Yokley; brother, Jackie Yokley; and sister Alene Yokley.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sandy Tate Yokley; daughters, Dana (Trent) Yokley of Sewanee, Samantha (Jason) Adams of McMinnville, and Amber Yokley (Justin Lawson) of Sewanee; grandchildren, Whitley (Kyle) Burley of Alabama, Jazmyn Hall of Alabama, Jaycee Jackson, Silas Lawson and Vivian Lawson of Sewanee; great-grandchildren, Paxton Burley and Lailyn Burley of Alabama; sisters, Penny (Parks) Chastain of Dixon, Tenn., Janie (Fred) Brooks of Missouri, Donna Yokley of Missouri, and brother, Hank Yokley.
On his behalf, I would like to thank his wonderful friends, family and all who have prayed for him, supported us so lovingly, carried us through this most difficult time, you are all an amazing people and he would be so thankful for you all.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, Tennessee with Pastor Kenny Green officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Yokley Family Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 11:00 A.M. till time of service.
