Obituary of Homer Lewis Layne

Homer Lewis Layne Jr., age 73, of Pelham, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday July 12, 2022.He was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on December 13, 1948, to the late Homer Lewis Layne Sr. and Wilma Haynes Layne. He is also preceded in death by his grandsons Trenton Layne and Tristan Layne; brother-in-law Kenny O’Neal Sr. and sisters; Rita Thompson, Sherry Harris, and Joyce Jacobs. Homer was an outdoors man at heart and loved deer and squirrel hunting, fishing, guns, knives, and camping. He is survived by his wife Glenda Layne, daughters; Kim Ransom Layne, Holly Goins and Kristen (Chad) Hill, sisters; Faye Henley, and Freda Layne, grandchildren; Tyler, Kassidy, Caitlin, Connor and Kaden. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, Tennessee with Bro. Ernest Lockhart officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Summerfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
