Obituary of Ernest Edward Gilliam

Ernest Edward Gilliam, age 85, of Sewanee, Tennessee passed from this life on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Ernest was born on November 5, 1936, in Sewanee, Tennessee to the late Charlie Floyd and Alma Pauline Long Gilliam. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Alton Floyd Gilliam and Charles Henry Gilliam, and sister Judy Anita Pruitt. Ernest was a devoted Christian and loved spending time at church and with his church family. Left to treasure his memories is the love of his life Bonnie Nelien Hobbs Gilliam to whom he spent a loving life of 56 years with. Along with many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on July 14, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Cumberland Funeral Home chapel in Monteagle, Tennessee with Bro. John Butner and Bro. Kyle Floyd officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Coalmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. till time of service 2:00 P.M.
