Mrs. Naydene Sweeney, age 77, of McMinnville, TN, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2022. She was born in Tracy City, TN to the late Wiley Clint and Alma Sue Smartt Meeks on January 5, 1945. She loved to read her bible, you could always find her with her bible in hand.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bethel Sweeney; son, Andy Kilgore; daughters, Charlotte Copeland and Derrieann Kilgore; and siblings, George Meeks, Clint Meeks, Elizabeth Crisp, Mary Jo Meeks, Helen Bess, Chester Meeks, Bettie Sue O’Neal, and an infant daughter, Maddie Meeks.
She is survived by her sons, Orbie Kilgore and Ricky Sweeney; daughter, Dessie Sweeney; grandchildren, Cody Sweeney and Alma Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Cameron Sweeney, Colson Sweeney and Creed Sweeney; brothers, Dave Meeks and Dee Meeks; sister, Pat Birdwell; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Cumberland Funeral Home – Foster and Lay Chapel in Tracy City at 3:00 PM with Bro. Terry Winton officiating. Burial will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery. A visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday till the time of service.
