Chattanooga, Tennessee – Mr. Orin Winfred Kilgore, Sr., passed away Sunday May 8, 2022, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was 85. Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his father, Walter B. Kilgore, mother, Katie Shrum Kilgore; brothers, Farris, Joe and Ed Kilgore; sisters, Mabel Garrett, Lucille Hall, Betty Jean Speegle and Joyce Atchley. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Kilgore; sisters, Geneva Brookman and Nellie Tabor; his surviving children, Orin W. (Kim) Kilgore Jr., Mary (Andy) Easley, Melinda (Brian) Ensley, Kristen (Keith) Johnson, Amy (Andrew) Manser, Tammy (Jimmy) Buquo and Richard (Dolly) Day; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kilgore retired from the United States Navy after 30 years of service, including a tour in Vietnam. He also retired from TVA and Dominion Energy as operations Specialist. He was a Master Mason, Shriner, A member of the Scottish Rite 32nd degree and a Knight’s Templar. Mr. Kilgore was a deeply loyal husband and father who will be greatly missed. He was known as a kind and loving friend who liked to play practical jokes and always had a smile for everyone. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday May 21, 2022, at the Plainview Cemetery in Tracy City, Tennessee with family members officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in honor of granddaughter Kellie Day, Shriners Hospital, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
