Margie Frances Smartt age 86 of Monteagle, Tennessee passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at a Smyrna Tennessee hospital. Margie was a daughter of the late Clyde Ransom Smartt and Lula Myrtle Meeks Smartt and was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Bouldin, Ruby Parsons, Louise Nix; brothers, Carl David and Clyde Smartt, Jr.; and a special friend, Howard McBee. Margie loved collecting all things “Elvis”, telling and sharing stories about the good old days with her family and friends. She truly was one of a kind and she will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Margie has touched the lives of people who met her without ever realizing the impact she had on those who would come to know her. When Margie told you what she would do you could count on it being done, one of her friends said "I met Margie and she made a promise of what she would do, it took her several years to complete the promise, many people would not have kept their word, but Margie was the exception, she kept her word and when she complete the task she said “I worried and worried that I would not get this done but I finally did.” That’s when I realized that Margie was a teacher, she taught me how you could trust her by the way she lived her life and Margie had a hard life. She made me a better person, I will always remember her and I thank God for my relationship with Margie, Rest in Peace.” Survivors include a sister, Geraldine Proctor of Charlotte, TN, caregiver, Rena Terry and her family, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, graveside at Clouse Hill Cemetery with Elder Franklin Hill officiating.
