Obituary of Coy "Gene" Lawson

Coy Lee "Gene" Lawson, age 80, of Pelham, Tennessee passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Gene was born in Box Mountain, North Carolina on December 30, 1941 to the late Coy Washington and Minnie Davis Lawson. He is also preceded in death by his sister Peggy Vass and son-in-law Jeffery Burnette. Gene was a selfless and caring person and a true lover of life. He enjoyed many things, such as old cars, working in the garage, oldies music, fishing, going out and just riding around to enjoy his surroundings, and find old mom and pop restaurants to dine at. Most of all though he loved and treasured his family and friends. Getting to tell them about special memories of times past and even scaring them just for the fun of it. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Marsha Lawson, children; Steve (Sue) Lawson, Carrie Burnette, and Marie Lawson, grandchildren; Kaila and Cameron Elsea, brother-in-law Michael Beetch and adopted daughter Madison Lawson. Funeral services will be private for the family only. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Prairie Plains Church of Christ for everything they have done.
