Obituary of Charles Payne

Mr. Charles Mitchell "Mitch" Payne age 65 of Tracy City, Tennessee and Hickory, North Carolina, passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at his home in Tracy City. He was a son of the late Earl Edward Payne and Martha Adel Lankford Payne. "Mitch" was retired having worked on the Railroad, served in the U.S. Army for 14 years, serving two tours in Viet Nam, he was a private pilot, had served on the Ft. Oglethorpe Police Department and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Linda Payne; daughter, Charlie Payne, Hickory, N.C.; sons, Eddy (Hollie) Wright, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and Jeff (Lisa) Wright, Hickory; brothers, Earl Payne, Rossville, GA, Bobby Payne, Alabama, Rudy Payne, California; 5 grandchildren, Brittany, Jordan, Tiffany, Emily and Ella; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Barry Nolan officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until time of services.
