Mrs. Ophelia “Totsie” Irvin, age 91, of Coalmont, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022. She was born in Coalmont TN to the late Morgan and Myrtle Hammers Burnett on October 17, 1930. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl David “Copie” Irvin; infant son, Larry David Irvin; daughter, Teresa Elaine Anderson; brothers, Francis Burnett, Melvin Burnett, Jim Burnett, Leon Burnett, Lillard Burnett, Paul Burnett, Nelson Burnett, Hershel Burnett, and Wayne Burnett; sisters, May Gibbs, Margie Sweeton, Ola Burnett, and Novella Brown.
She is survived by her daughter; Kathy D. Irvin (Matt Jernigan); son-in-law, Ed Anderson; grandchildren, Michael Anderson (Tiffany), Tony Anderson, Ryan Nunley, Sonja Hart (Shawn), and Suzi Thigpen (Ben); several great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Cumberland Funeral Home – Foster and Lay Chapel in Tracy City at 2:00 PM with Dr. Clayton Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Coalmont Cemetery. A visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday till the time of service.
