Granny Rose Nunley, age 81, of Coalmont, TN, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. She was born in Goppingen, Germany to the late Peter and Maria Diebold. She was a member of the Westside Baptist church, loved to cook and boss everyone around. She also loved to crochet and knit, do crossword puzzles, and watch western movies. She loved all her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Nunley; siblings, Lore Bauer, Thea Friederich, and Hanz Peter Diebold, all of Germany and a very special friend, Dorothy Smith. She is survived by her children, James H. Nunley Jr. (Teresa), Charles E. Nunley (Cynthia), and Mary Ann Byers (David); grandchildren, Phillip Worley (Jodie) and Dustin Nunley; great-grandchild, Carter Worley; step-grandchildren, Danna Byers and David Byers Jr.; step-great-grandchild, Aidan Nunley; special caregivers, Ruth and Charlie Simmons; and special friends, Sandra and Dale Maney. The funeral service will be Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Cumberland Funeral Home – Foster and Lay Chapel in Tracy City at 2:00 PM with Bros. Claude Hoback and Kyle Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Coalmont Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cumberland Funeral Home.
