Obituary of David W. Johnson

David Walter Johnson, age 82, of Tracy City, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2022. He was born on May 27, 1939, to the late Pascal and Edna Nolan Johnson. David attended Plainview Community Church and loved reading his bible and working in his yard. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edwene Johnson; sons, Jeffrey David (Desiree) Johnson and Jarrod Donovan (Tanjala) Johnson; grandchildren, Cole Johnson, Kase Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Victoria Johnson, Charity (Zach) Bean; great grandchildren, Bentley Bean and Brynnlee Bean; sister, Mary Laman; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelby Brooke Johnson; brothers, Isaac, Homer, and Jimmy; and sisters, Eva Cope and Frankie Dodson. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, in the Foster & Lay Chapel with Ministers, Larry Campbell and Kyle Floyd officiating with burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Cumberland Funeral Home in Tracy City.
