Obituary of Ruby Jewell Shrum

Ruby Jewell Shrum, age 78, of Tracy City, Tennessee passed from this life Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was born on April 4 to the late Elsie Dykes and Howard Nunley. Ruby is also preceded in death by her husband John E. Shrum, brothers; Leroy and Charlie Nunley, sisters; Carolyn Shrum and Ruth Meeks. Among many things Ruby enjoyed cooking, working in her garden and spending time watching her birds and squirrels. Survivors include her sons; Charles Shrum, Howard Edward “Eddie” Shrum, brother Joe Nunley and sister Buenie Meeks, grandchildren; Jonathon Shrum, Brandy Nunley, Natalie Beckler, Ashley Curry, Justin, and Jr Shrum, great grandchildren; Drake Johnson, Waylon Nunley, Peyton Nunley, Mariyah and Madison Shrum, Michael and Savannah Curry and Callie Huffstuttler. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Cumberland Funeral Home, Foster and Lay Chapel, with Brother Yancy Layne officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Pryor Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 4-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
