Robby Dwayne Northcutt passed away January 5, 2022. He was much loved by his family and those who knew him and was a friend to all. He is survived by his fiancé Carol Ann Newsome, daughter Jessica (Shawn) Jones, son Nathan Northcutt, granddaughters Madelyn Aussiker and Allison Jones, sister Cheryl (Mike) Rogers, father George Benson Northcutt, niece Michele Rogers, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Nadine Hampton Northcutt, maternal grandparents Edward and Edna Mae Hampton Fultz, and paternal grandparents Stanley and Willie Mae Northcutt.
Robby was born July 27, 1965, in Manchester, Tennessee. He grew up on his family’s farm in Pelham, Tennessee. During his youth Robby rode horses, helped his parents on their farm, played baseball, and participated in 4H and FFA. He and his sister Cheryl traveled with their parents to different venues in the South showing their cattle, pigs, and even sheep. While in high school Robby worked on cars in the garage at the Shell station in Pelham. He graduated from Grundy County High School and began working at the Co-op in Pelham. Later he worked as a well-known and skilled diesel technician at Al White Motors and Russell Barnett. His knowledge and expertise as a diesel technician led him to his current career as an auto mechanic instructor for Franklin County High School since July 2013. Mr. Northcutt, as he soon found himself being called by his students, was loved and respected by his students, and he loved sharing his trade with his students.
In his spare time Robby stayed busy gardening, working on cars and farm equipment, learning how to smoke meats in his new smoker, camping and traveling with the love of his life Carol, spending time with his family, and loving on his grandbabies. Robby was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend or stranger. He possessed a kind, quiet, understanding spirit, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held January 8th at Cumberland Funeral Home in Monteagle, Tennessee, with Brother Mike Rigsby officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the service begins at 12:00 noon.
