Obituary of Nadine Northcutt
Please share a memory of Nadine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nadine Hampton Northcutt was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She passed away at her home in Pelham, Tennessee, December 23, 2021. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years George Benson Northcutt, daughter Cheryl (Mike) Rogers, son Robby Northcutt (Carol), granddaughters Michele Rogers, Jessica (Shawn) Jones, grandson Nathan Northcutt, great-granddaughters Madelyn Aussiker, and Allison Jones, sisters Nadene Moore, Portia (Allen) Phillips, Vickie Traylor, brother Mark Anthony (Danielle) Fultz, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Edna Mae Hampton Fultz and brother Buck Hampton.
She was born on May 22, 1943, in Tracy City, Tennessee. Nadine was no stranger to hard work. She worked at the Smokehouse Lodge as a maid before she began helping her husband Benson full time on their farm which over the years has included hogs, chickens, and cattle while she raised their two children Cheryl and Robby. Later she enjoyed doting on their three grandchildren Michele, Jessica, and Nathan, and later their two great grandchildren Maddie and Allie. Nadine enjoyed reading, gardening (flowers only!), and working outside keeping her fence rows and flower beds weeded. She was an animal lover and fed all that ventured into her yard. Her cookbook collection rivaled that of any good chef, and she loved trying out new recipes and cooking tried and true family favorites. She always said, “A messy cook is a good cook!” She loved a good cup of hot tea and a pretty bouquet cut fresh from her yard. When Nadine’s health seemed to fail her, she faced the challenge head on and just found new ways to complete a task to remain her busy, spunky self. She also always reminded her family, “Anything you do today is one less thing you have to do tomorrow!”
Nadine will be deeply missed, and her memory treasured by her family and friends. A funeral is scheduled for December 26, 2021, at Cumberland Funeral Home in Monteagle, Tennessee. The family will receive family and friends at 11:00 A.M., and the service officiated by Bro. Andy Lockhart will begin at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Pelham, Tennessee.
