Ms. Phyllis Carrick, age72, of Tracy City, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at STRHS in Winchester. She was born on October 22, 1949, in Tracy City to James Sitz and Thelma (Coppinger) Sitz, who preceded her in death. “…She has fought a good fight, she has finished the course, she has kept the faith…”- II Timothy 4:7-8 She was a faithful, life-long member of Mt. Calvary Apostolic Church, a pillar of her family and community, and her family’s prayer warrior. She loved watching the sun rise and set, and finding the rainbows after the storms. She was a Nanny to every child she encountered. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and church family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 52 years, Benny Carrick; daughter, Tammy (John) Shrum; sons, Mark (Amanda) Carrick, and Luke Carrick; granddaughter, Tiffany (Adam) Patton; grandsons, Jake (Brandy) Patton, Aidan Patterson, Joseph and Tyler Shrum; great grandchildren, Khloe Haynes, Hannah and Jaxon Patton, Waylon, Ava, and Ruger Shrum; brother, Gerald (Beverly) Sitz; sisters, Marie (Jimmy) Merrell, Glenda (Bill) Childers; sisters-in-law, Arveta, Jean and Tina; a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored also survive. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Ralph Sitz; nephews, Eric Childers and Steven Merrell; nieces, Joanna Sitz, Kathy Merrell, and Hassie Merrell; and grandson, David Allen “Boo”. There will be a funeral service on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Bro Franklin Hill and Bro. Michael Hill officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Gregg Cemetery. There will be a period of visitation with the family Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
