Thomas Davis Moore, Jr., 62, of Gruetli Laager, TN, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Thomas was born on November 30, 1958, to Mona Sweeton and Thomas Moore, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Anna Evelyn Moore; grandparents, Anna and Douglas Goforth, Evelyn and Horace Moore, Sr., Winona and Carl Sweeton; uncles, Ronald Lee Sweeton and Carl David Sweeton; K-9 companions, Lady and Tramp. Thomas is survived by his sisters, Mona (John) Brittingham of Nashville, TN, and Claire (Todd) Proudfoot of Gruetli Laager, TN; nieces, Emily (Mike) Hart of Tallahassee, FL, Olivia Cowart of Jacksonville, FL, and nephew, Stuart Douglas of Arlington, VA; step-father, Karl Moreland of Duncan, OK; beloved aunts, Nancy (Wade) Daugherty of Dover, TN, and Anna “Katie” Goforth of Tracy City, TN. He has a loving extended family of cousins and many friends across the United States. Thomas spent his youth at Sewanee, TN, where he attended Sewanee Public School and played Little League baseball. He attended middle school and high school at Orange Park, FL, where he played in the Orange Park High School stage band. After school he worked at Townsends Pharmacy as the delivery boy. Thomas received his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of North Florida at Jacksonville, FL. He worked for nineteen years as a computer programmer for the City of Jacksonville, FL, and after retirement he resided in Gruetli-Laager where he enjoyed loving care from caregivers Tammy and Dewayne Walker, Lori Burrows, Shanda Misiolek, Marisa Songer, and Eliza Johnson. He will be buried alongside his family at Fall Creek Cemetery in a private family service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to Mountain T.O.P., Isaiah House 117, or the charity of your choice.
