Obituary of James Walter Layne

James Walter Layne, age 89, of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away in the comfort of his home with his family by his side on Monday, August 30, 2021. He was born January 25, 1932, to the late Bartley and Almedia Layne. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Layne; grandson, Jayson Campbell; siblings, Louise Layne, Irene Balcom, Emiel Layne, Dave Layne, Paul Layne, Loys Layne, and Norman Layne; and grandson-in-law, Ransie Whitman. He is survived by his children, Pamela Rich, Joy (Jeff) Sweeton, and James D. Layne; sister, Patricia Layne Myers; grandchildren, Holly Whitman, Blake (Felicia) Rich, Ashley (Jonathan) Dixson, Andrea (Trevor) Johnson, Whitney Savannah Layne, and Angelina Layla Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Ciara, Braxton, Dawson, Braylon, Colston, Laniey, Moi, Zoe, Jacob, Jayce, Jensen, Jozlyn, and Emmalynn Jade; and a very special friend, Emma Gene Bennett. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, August 30, 2021, at 5:00 P.M. at Gregg Cemetery with Bro. Franklin Hill officiating.
