Ernest Neil Campbell, Sr., 71, of Franklin, Tennessee passed away on July 19th 2021. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday July 23, 2021, at Cumberland Funeral Home in Tracy City Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2021, at Cumberland Funeral Home with Clayton Jones, officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Neil Campbell was raised in Tracy City Tennessee, born to the late Ernest E. “Pib” Campbell and Jewell Van Hooser Campbell. He attended high school at Grundy County High School and graduated in 1967. He was a Navy Veteran and served in active duty in the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Upon his return from Vietnam, he worked with his father in the coal mines. He was a long-time business owner in Tracy City and was a self-employed farmer that loved raising his chickens. Neil is preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and “Pib” Campbell, his sister Linda Kay Sweeton and his son Jayson Lee Campbell. Neil is survived by his brother, Dan Campbell, son, Neil (Leslea) Campbell, son, Marcus Whited, and grandchildren, Moria, Zoe, Jacob, Addison, Payton, and Cayson. He was so loved as a father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
