Obituary of Jerry Wayne Curtis

Mr. Jerry Wayne Curtis, age 70, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Born October 29, 1950, in Manchester, Tennessee, to Ruth Layne Curtis and the late Jerry M. Curtis. Wayne was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Tracy City and was very active in the church. He had been a Deacon, taught Sunday School and loved Vacation Bible School. Other than his father, he is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Ed and Virginia Sweeton. He is survived by his loving wife, Eddie Marie Curtis; two sons, Benjamin Wayne (Mandy) Curtis and Dustin Edward (April) Curtis; mother, Ruth Layne Curtis; grandchildren, Ethan, Lydia, Emmaline, Jonathan, and Ginny; and a special niece, Caitlin. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 5-8 PM and Friday, July 16, 2021, from 12-2 PM at Cumberland Funeral Home-Tracy City. Funeral services will be held in the Foster-Lay Chapel on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 2 PM with sons, Ben and Dustin Curtis officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Plainview Cemetery.
