Obituary of Earline O'Neal Layne

Earline O’Neal- Layne, age 87, of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family. Born September 22, 1933 to the late Early O’Neal and Nina Bouldin-Harris, Earline had devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great grandmother. She was a member of the Eastern Star Association for over forty-three years. Earline enjoyed canning from her garden each year and her favorite place to travel was “going to the mountains” in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She will be missed dearly. Other than her parents, preceding her in death is her husband of sixty years, Lonnie Layne; one son, Larry Wade Layne; two grandsons, Jeremy Hamby and Derrick Layne; one granddaughter, Jessica Layne; one great grandson, Quentin Rorer; and two sisters, Janice Harris and Martha Sabados. Survivors include three sons, David (Lyra) Layne, Ben (Tonya) Layne and Michael Layne; one daughter, Patricia (Jeff) Winton; one brother, Ben (Judy) Harris; two sisters, Betty (Ronnie) Geary and Judy Davenport; one special daughter in law, Gail Layne; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; five great- great grandchildren; special little buddy, Fletcher Lyle and several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at Cumberland Funeral Home- Tracy City on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 4-8PM. Funeral services will be held in the Foster-Lay Chapel on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 1Pm with Bro. Claude Holback officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Summerfield Cemetery .
