Obituary of Barbara "Bobbie" Gilliam

Barbara “Bobbie” Gilliam, age 70, of Sewanee, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by loved ones. Born February 16, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, “Bobbie” had devoted most of her life to her family and nursing career. She had been a in the nursing field for over thirty- eight years as a CNA instructor, LPN, ADON and RN. She had a passion for helping others. In her spare time, she was an avid shopper, crafter, quilter and seamstress, especially when her Brother-in-Law would come while on duty needing his pants sown! “Bobbie” was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed dearly by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mignone Graves and one daughter, Jennifer Collins. Survivors include her husband of thirty seven years, Sandy Gilliam; one daughter, Heather (Michael) Hamilton; one brother, James Chadwick (Tonya) Graves; one sister, Rhonda (Chris) Rogers; six grandchildren, Lillianna, Caylie, Caleb, Nicholes, Trenton and Brandy and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at Cumberland Funeral Home- Monteagle from 11AM-2PM. Funeral services will be held at 2PM with Pastor James Taylor officiating.
