Obituary of Jerry "Dude" Sweeton

Jerry “Dude” Sweeton, age 67, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Friday,January 8, 2021. Born on September 7, 1953 to the late Byron and Helen Sweeton, “Dude” had devoted his life to his agricultural business, White City Produce. He loved his business of “playing in the dirt” with planting produce and flowers year round. He never met a stranger and enjoyed socializing, calling everyone he met, “Neighbor”. “Dude” was a loving husband and father that will be missed dearly. Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, “Tami” Sweeton; one son, “J.D.” Stiefel; one step son, Cody Layne; two brothers, Marlin (Ginger) Sweeton and Billy Sweeton and three grandchildren, Hallie, Jacob and Hunter. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 11AM-1PM. As requested per the family, all family and friends are encouraged and required to wear masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Funeral services are scheduled at 1PM in the Foster and Lay Chapel. The Reverend Barry Nolan will officiate. Internment will immediately follow at Pryor Ridge Cemetery.
