Obituary of Alma Jean Tate

Mrs. Alma Jean Tate, age 82, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Born to the late James and Elva Nunley, on April 4, 1938, “Alma Jean” will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved flowers, especially red roses and taking long Sunday afternoon drives with her family. She was a member of the Mt. Ararat Methodist Church of the Flat Branch Community. Other than her parents, she in preceded in death by one son, Garry Tate and two brothers, Robert Nunley and Douglas Nunley. She is survived by her husband of sixty three years, Bobby Tate; one daughter, Beverly (Jeff) Griggs; two sisters, Antha McCarver and Betty Lou Stockton and one grandson, Aaron Griggs. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Mt. Ararat Methodist Church from 4-8PM. Funeral services will be held at the church, on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2PM, with Bro. Ernest Lockhart and Bro. Andy Weaver officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Orange Hill Cemetery.
