To Dru, Elise, family members and many friends of Ava, My heart is grieving with you all. I am profoundly stunned by the news of Ava’s passing. Our beautiful Ava was a remarkable young woman, whom we all loved deeply. No words can express how much she meant to all of us and everyone that she encountered, My family and I were blessed to know her since she was a little girl. She was like a daughter to me and a kind older sister to my twin boys-Arieh and Daniel. They spent endless hours playing together. I remember so fondly the sleigh riding, the hot chocolate , the birthday parties and the laughter. The relationship only grew stronger as Ava grew up. Every summer, for many years, Ava took part in Grumbling Gryphons Theater Camp held at Cornwall Town Hall. She loved being in the plays with the other children, easily making friends and playing dramatic roles such as sea goddesses or animals. Bright as a star, she sparkled and shone! Her parents, Dru and Elise always supported her in this and everything she did. She flourished both academically and socially at Hotchkiss School and became an extraordinarily capable and lovely young woman, enjoying life and all it has to give. Ava loved math, horses, music, friends and life! She spread light and joy wherever she was. We love you Ava! You are in our hearts forever! We are all more blessed for knowing you! Special condolences and blessings to Dru and Elise, the most dedicated and loving parents one could wish for. We are sending love, light and cherished memories to you all. Rest in Peace Ava. I first met Ava when I joined the JV tennis team at Hotchkiss (her sophomore year, my freshman year). I found an amazing and warm-hearted person whom I was delighted to call my friend. I will remember Ava as the best, most encouraging and supportive doubles partner and friend. She had the brightest spirit and the kindest heart. She had such an infectious and unforgettable laugh. I’ll never forget the goofy times on court and on bus rides to matches. She was such a headstrong, passionate person and she was someone I strive to be more like everyday. I’ll always remember the deep conversations we both loved having, as she was such an intelligent person, one to both talk to and listen to. Ava was ambitious, and I’m sad that I won’t be able to watch my friend grow to reach her dreams and accomplish the things she wanted in life. You were so loved Ava, and you will be dearly missed.

I met Ava when she was just a girl living in Cornwall. Years later I would occasionally see her at her high school and she would always stop to talk. She seemed genuinely interested to learn about how our family was doing; she had an openness to her spirit; she was an observer as well as being an active and outgoing young woman. Hers is a tragic loss and I have been thinking about her sweetly smiling face and her family since I learned of her passing. May she Rest In Peace and may her family and friends find solace and comfort in her memory.

No words will ever do justice to the shock Ava's passing has left among all of us who knew her. Ava made a difference in so many lives, she will be greatly missed, but also lovingly remembered. Our hearts are broken by the news of dear Ava's tragic and sudden passing. I remember the feeling I had when I met her many years ago - the feeling that she radiated happiness and love. Her upbeat personality was an inspiration to all she came in contact with. She was someone you wanted to be around. When I reflect on her short life, I will be uplifted by her ever-radiant smile and positive attitude. Although we may not see her physically, we will always be able to feel her love as a guardian angel. She was the light in her Mother's eyes and a constant source of pride for her beloved grandparents. I take comfort in knowing that she is now in our Lord's loving care. Anoush Givelekian and family
