Obituary of Huey Dale Hammers

Huey Dale Hammers, age 59, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away following a long-term illness on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Born to the late Hubert and Rosa Nell Hammers, on February 19, 1961, Huey had worked for over twenty years for The Grundy County Housing Authority. He will forever be remembered as a caring, hard working husband and father, who loved his family dearly. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Hammers and James Hammers. Huey is survived by his wife of thirty years, Kathy Jane Hammers; three sons, Huey (DJ) Hammers, Jr., Jeremy Atterton and Jonathon Atterton; one daughter, Monica Blevins; step children, Ronald “Monkey” Hammers, Stacey Hammers and Janell Hammers; twelve grandchildren, Trevor, Allison, Destiny, Charity, Kaylee, Keagon, Kaidon, Abbey, Aubrey, Alley, Addey and Amelia; one great grandchild, Cameron and three on the way; four sisters, Sue Dotson, Darlene McDaniel, Linda Anderson and Mary Rollins; three brothers, Tony Hammers, Robert Hammers and Tim Hammers and several nieces and nephews along with a host of special friends. Visitation will be held at Cumberland Funeral Home- Monteagle on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 11AM-2PM. Funeral Services will follow with Bro. Kenny Green officiating. Internment will immediately follow the funeral services at Clouse Hill Cemetery. Online memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
