Obituary of Katherine Elizabeth Trussell

Tracy City, Tennessee – Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth Almany Trussell, 93, passed away Tuesday morning November 3, 2020 at the home of her granddaughter with her family by her side. She was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on April 25, 1927 to Wiley Almany and Mamie Manley who preceded her in death along with her husband of 27 years Jack Trussell; daughter, and son in law, Carolyn and Johnny Curtis; brother, James Almany; grandparents, Francis and Mary Almany and James and Sally Manley; in laws, Burnice and Alta Trussell; brother in laws, Eunice and Dail Trussell; granddaughter, Tammy Curtis. Katherine attended school at Myers Hill and the Grundy County High School. She attended Christ Episcopal in Tracy City in her younger years and moved to Myers Hill Congregational Methodist Church in Tracy City. Katherine enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her beautiful rose bushes and flowers, and loved every animal she came in contact with. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and her time spent at Meadowood Apartments. She is survived by her granddaughter, Tina and Paul Harris; grandson, Kevin Curtis and Fiance’ Tara Jackson; great grandchildren, Ashley, Alex and Alyssa Harris, Mason (Kiara Argo) and Madison Curtis and their mother Tasha Curtis; sister in law, Arveta Yarworth and several nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousin, Lucille Weaver; special friends Imogene Cockman and Evelyn Nunley. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Barry Nolan and Johnny Gipson officiating with burial to follow in the Burns Cemetery.
