Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. James Douglas “Big O” Orange, age 66, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Tri-Star Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on December 9, 1953 in Altamont, Tennessee. James is preceded in death by his parents; James and Johnnie Mae Orange; brothers, Stanford, John, and Ray Orange; sister Linda Orange. Doug worked construction and factory jobs before retiring. He was a husband, father, brother, friend but his favorite role was, “Grumpy.” He was an imperfect man who loved a perfect God. He was the first to pray over you, for you and with you. He believed love was an action word and put it into practice daily. He was a doer and was the one to say “Just let me get my shoes on” anytime you called with a need. He always had his family’s best interest at heart even though they were often too stubborn to see it. He was always the first to forgive. Doug also enjoyed simple things. He loved the outdoors, watching old westerns, listening to classic country and southern gospel. He enjoyed browsing flea markets (mostly to chat with random strangers on benches) and buying in bulk. He LOVED getting a good deal!! He also enjoyed his Jeep and polished those wheels religiously. Doug was the family Rock!! Doug is survived by his loving wife of almost 35 years, Angelia West Orange, daughters; Kristen (Jordon) Myers, Elizabeth ( Lonnie) Reggins, Jessica Orange, Ashley Orange; beloved grandchildren, Tristan, Isaiah, Lily, Kaden, Lonnie, Glenda, Liam, McKenzie; sisters, Wanda (Dave) Meeks, Margaret Sherrill; brothers, Carl (Elease) Orange, William (Treva) Orange and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled with the family later. Online condolence and memories can be shared with the family at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net Arrangements by Cumberland Funeral Home, Foster and Lay Chapel, 96 St. Clair Street, Tracy City, Tennessee 37387.
