Obituary of Verna Mae Coffey

Verna Mae Coffey, age 83 of Monteagle, died on September 29, 2020, at Signature Health in Monteagle, Tennessee. She was born in Pelham, Tennessee on January 31, 1937 to Roy and Leslie Jane Watson. Verna Mae was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was a homemaker, she loved gardening, working in her yard, and enjoyed fast cars in her younger years. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronnie Coffey, sisters Ann Campbell and Helen Brown. She is survived by her children Paul (Inge) Campbell, Marilyn (Ron) Rodman, Timothy (Joan) Campbell, Marlene (Logan) Caldwell, and Dewey (Lashana) Layne; grandchildren Natalie (Chris) Nunley, Kayla Seagroves, Courtney Rodman, Dakota (Leanna) Layne, Garrett (Brandi) Layne, Timothy (Bubba) Campbell, Dustin (Gabby) Evans, and Lexie Layne. Great-Grand Children John Kaleb Jacobs, Kamden and Kreek Jones, Marshall Layne, Kason Layne, Jackson Evans, Sadie, and Scout Nunley, great grandson Tyler Campbell and several of nieces and nephews. A short visitation will be held at the Cumberland Funeral home on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 12:30pm until 1:30pm. Claude Hoback will officiate graveside services at Summerfield Cemetery at 2:00pm.
