Obituary of Helen Marie Dykes

Ms. Helen Marie Dykes, age 78, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, following a long term illness. Born in Coalmont, Tennessee on October 23, 1941, to the late Hershel and Berta “Birdie” Parson, she had devoted most of her life to her loving family and community. Helen was a former employee of Cumberland Funeral Home and The City of Tracy City. She was a member of the Faith Missionary Church of Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee who enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Grady Dykes; two sisters, Olline Roberts and Nina Parsons and one brother, Troy Ellis Parson. She is survived by two brothers, William “Bill” Parson and Hershel (Brenda) Parson; two special nephews, Troy “T.J” Parson and Shawn Parson; niece, Caroline “Nicole” (Jason) Seagroves and several other special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4-8PM at Cumberland Funeral Home-Tracy City. Funeral services will be conducted at the Foster-Lay Chapel on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 11 AM, with immediate interment to follow at Hobbs Hill Community Church Cemetery.
