Obituary of Linda Matheson Burney

Linda Carol Matheson- Burney, age 71, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020. Born to the late Kenneth and Hazel Tedder-Matheson on November 16, 1948, Linda had devoted most of her life to her loving family and church. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. She sang in the Whiteville Church of God Church Choir of Whiteville, North Carolina for over thirty years. She will forever be remembered as a hard worker, loving wife and mother. Linda is survived by her husband of fifty three years, Gene Burney; one son, Paul Burney; one daughter, Kellie (Ronnie) Watts; two brothers, Nathan Matheson and Robert (Brookie) Matheson; four grandchildren, Amber, Tamara, Steven and Aaron; three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Evelyn and Eleanor; a special sister in law, Judy Sechrest and several special nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Edward Matheson; special sister in law, Judy Matheson and niece, Lynn Kelly. Visitation will be held at Cumberland Funeral Home- Monteagle on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 10AM until time of Funeral Services at 12PM Noon.
