Obituary of W.R. Bryant

Mr. William R. "W.R." Bryant age 74 of Tracy City passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, in Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee. He was retired from U.S. Pipe and attended Gum Springs Congregational Methodist Church. W.R. was born on Sept. 22, 1937 in Bryant's Cove, a son of the late Lawrence Bryant, Sr. and Ethel Nolan Bryant, was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Bryant; son, Christopher D. Bryant; brothers, Leon, Lawrence, J.C. and Elmer Bryant; sister, Hazel Dunn. W.R. was a sports fan and enjoyed the outdoors, his greatest passions were watching his children and grandchildren play sports and being in the woods, especially going to Bryant's Cove. Survivors include his children, Jerry (Dorie) Bryant, Tracy City, Sammy (Susan) Bryant, Jasper, TN, Troy (Cindy) Bryant, Tracy City, Sherry Bryant, Tracy City, Kathy L. Bryant, Denver, Colorado; brother, Houston Bryant, Tracy City; sisters, Lucille Parker and Bea Lovingood of Chattanooga, Una Mae Hearn, Sardis, MS; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Ernest Lockhart will officiate. Burial will be in Pryor Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-9 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee.
