Obituary of Harvey Dodd, Jr.

Harvey Dodd, Jr., age 89, of McMinnville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020. Funeral services will be held at the Foster-Lay Chapel on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 1 P.M, with Sister Judy Seals officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Clouse Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the funeral home. Born on December 20, 1930 to the late Harvey Dodd, Sr. and Edna Mae Wooten, Harvey will always be known as a wonderful father and a hard worker. He had been a veterinary assistant for over forty years and had a passion for rescuing animals. Harvey also enjoyed watching his westerns and being good to others, he never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Dodd; four brothers, Cecil Dodd, Frank Dodd, Jim Dodd, William Dodd; and three sisters, Carol Poss, Louise Holland and Edna Dodd. Harvey is survived by three sons; Teddy Dodd, Pernell Snider and Charles Snider; two daughters, Charlotte “Sissy” Dodd and Karen Dodd; one brother, J.C. Dodd; two sisters, Nettie George and Mary Dodd; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; and extended family, Lensey McKeehan.
