Tracy City, Tennessee – Mrs. Mavis Lillian Dove, 66, passed away Saturday June 27, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born in Altamont, Tennessee on February 27, 1954 to Fred and Sarah Sweeton Shrum who preceded her in death along with her husband, John David Dove Sr.; son, John David Dove Jr.; infant baby Dove; brother, Freddie Shrum; sister, Ruth Sanders; great granddaughter, Aubree Grace Williams.
She was of the Apostolic faith.
She is survived by her sons, Arnold Lee ( Stephenie) Dove and Jon (Brandy) Dove; daughters, Maria (Brian) Gaither and Melinda (Doug) Drake; brothers, Anthony (Rita) Shrum, David (Shelia) Shrum and Marvin (Faye) Shrum; sisters, Donnie Higgins and Saddie Brancefield; brother-in-law, Weldon Sanders;14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Foster and Lay Chapel with Minister Donnie Turner officiating with burial to follow in the Shrum Family Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee. www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net
