Mrs. Jewell Y. Kilgore age 90 of Sequatchie, Tennessee passed from this life Friday morning, December 27, 2019, in Memphis, Tennessee after a brief illness. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on April 4, 1929, a daughter of the late Frank P. Nunley and Jenny Bess Nunley. Mrs. Kilgore was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kilgore; brothers and sisters, Ed, Robert “PT”, and Carl David Nunley; sisters, Rachel, Mildred, Margie Sue, Elizabeth, Nadine and Arlene. Mrs. Kilgore was a member of Tracy City First United Methodist Church, she loved to sew and was a gifted quilt maker. Survivors include her children, Joe E. (Mary N.) Kilgore and Rebecca Y. (Garry) Davis; grandchildren, Meghan (Benjamin) Clark, Brent Davis and Austin (Adee) Davis; great-grandchildren, Sloane, Mae and Davis Clark; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2020, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Danny Coffelt officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services. The family has ask for everyone to wear something blue, her favorite color, on Thursday in honor of Mrs. Jewell. The family will gather at Mrs. Jewell's home after her services and visit and share memories, everyone is invited. Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, Foster & Lay Chapel, Tracy City, Tennessee.
