Obituary of Elizabeth Kilgore

Mrs. Elizabeth “Liz” Kilgore,67, passed away October 18, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born on November 27, 1951 in Sewanee, Tennessee to the late Albert Preston and Beatrice Gipson. She is also preceded in death by sister JoAnn Brown; brothers, Kenneth Brown and Pete Gipson; sister Nancy Gipson; brothers, John, Donald and Frankie Gipson and nephew Mickey Gipson.

Liz enjoyed taking road trips and seeing the countryside but most of all she loved her children.

She is survived by her husband Jim Kilgore; children, Bryan (LeAnn) Yates, Brooke (Phillip) Scruggs, John (Annie) Tigue, and Mary Tigue; grandchildren, Eli, Braxton, and Emary Scruggs, Cooper Tigue, Alistair, Bryson and Brayden Yates; great grandchild Anara Elizabeth Yates; sister Charlene (Lee) Perry along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Monteagle location chapel with Bro. Alton Scruggs and Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Visitation with family will be held Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
