Obituary of Julia Kirk Hargis

Mrs. Julia Kirk Hargis, age 100 of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away in the morning hours of Thursday, June 27, 2019, at home. She was born March 18, 1919 in Tracy City, Tennessee to the late Willie Kirk and Pearlie Dykes Kirk. Julia is also preceded in death by her husband Dolph Hargis, son Johnny Hargis, daughter in law Dorothy Hargis, grandson Kirk Griffith and sister Vilda Carrick.

Julia was a member of the Orange Hill Memorial , Ladies Auxiliary American Legion and was a lifelong democrat and loved cooking and quilting.

She is survived by her son; Willie A. “Billy” Hargis, daughter; Peggy Griffith, daughter in law; Nelda Hargis, grandchildren; Judy and Mark LaCour, Donald and Nicole Hargis, John and Tammy Hargis, Dewain and Daranda Hargis, Jennifer Griffith (Troy Nunley) and Billy Ray Griffith; along with 13 great- grandchildren and 2 great- great -grandchildren.

Graveside services will be  2:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Orange Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Foster and Lay Chapel. Online condolences and memories maybe shared at www:cumberlandfuneralhome.net .
