Obituary of Frances Lappin

Please share a memory of Frances to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mrs. Sarah Frances Lappin age 89 of Sewanee, Tennessee passed from this life Thursday, May 9, 2019, at her home; surrounded by her family.  She was a native of Sewanee and a daughter of the late Tom Green and Gladys Mooney Green and was preceded in death by her husbands, John W. McBee and William Lappin; sons, Clifford Larry McBee and Michael Gary McBee; sisters, Floy Caldwell, Sue Lappin and Charlsie Green; brothers, Jack, John and Richard Green; grandson, Trenton Layne McBee & Tristan Tyler McBee.

Frances spent her life caring for others as a surgical technician, physician’s assistant and after retirement was the director of the Sewanee Senior Citizens Center, for many years.  Frances loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a devout Christian and her love for the Lord showed in everything she did.  Frances was a very strong and independent woman who never complained about life or the trials it dealt her; she always believed in the plans that the Lord had for her and that was enough. She lived her life with such poise and grace; life was such a pure joy for her. God always resided in her home; it felt like the safest place in the world and there was always more than enough love, joy, and happiness to go around.  In her midst you knew without a doubt that God’s love was real; you felt it in her unconditional love for you. She always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world and she had a smile that felt like sunshine.   Frances enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking (and boy could she cook!), reading, crocheting, and reading her bible. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Colvin; daughter in law, Carol McBee; brothers, Pete (Violet) Green and Jim (Geraldine) Green; sister, Diane Green Clay; grandchildren, Misty (Dwayne) Isbell, Amanda Meeks (William Beitzer), John (Holly) McBee, Chris (Elaine Lassiter) McBee, Amy (Stacey) Nunley; great-grandchildren, Trey Isbell, Hunter Isbell, Gracie Beitzer, Gavin Beitzer, Griffin Beitzer, Brantley McBee, Morgan Meeks, Alex Parson, Sam Parson, Kallie Parson, Lileeana Nunley; great-great-grandchild, Aspen Rhys Isbell
