Obituary of Duke Bone

Huntland, Tennessee

 

Mr. Duke 'Sam' Bone was born June 28, 1934 on Sweeton Hill in Coalmont, TN. He passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his home in Huntland after an extended illness.

 

Duke was the son of the late Samuel and Lillian Mooney Bone and was preceded in death by an infant son, Sammy Duke and infant daughter, Sharon; brothers, Victor Bone, Claude Bone, and Clyde Bone; sisters, Clara Landon, Etta Mae Landon, Alice Warren, Josephine Patterson, and Sue Hargis.

 

Duke was a family man who loved being with his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, was self-taught in building and repairing most anything. He enjoyed watching the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves baseball team.

 

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mae Ellen Bone; daughters, Mary Lynn Bauer of Lebanon, Karen (Danny) Brewer of Belvidere, Francine (Kevin) Phelps, Shelbyville; brother, Paul David (Mary) Bone of Michigan; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, April 3, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Rob Collins officiating. Burial will be in Bonny Oak Cemetery in Coalmont.
