What to say about Kay? I worked with Kay at Erlanger on the 7th floor. We were her work family. No bad nights with Kay, as she always had chocolate!! She took all of us under her wing...even if we were older than her. Knowledge...abounding. At times I would look up something medical to ask her about. Something I didn't think she could possibly know...and she would answer with the greatest detail,... explaining to the fullest measure. The ultimate teacher. Caring....unlimited. It didn't matter to her if the patient was homeless, a prisoner, wealthy, in DT's, had a stroke, just sick as crap, or just passing through and had an accident. Kay administered her loving care as if that was her very own family. Kay was a prankster...if she wasn't playing one...she was in on pulling one...usually on me. Kay was the story teller of the floor. Always had a story...usually funny. We all have a "Kay " story to tell and share. Just ask us when you see us at the wake. Her Erlanger family will be the ones crying and laughing all a the same time. We rejoice at her reunion in Heaven with her loved ones and celebrate the life of one of the smartest, practical, loving, caring, and most endearing nurses,..our sister, our friend..that we have ever had. Rest in peace, Dear Kay. You were loved...very much.
